Randy struggled with his car early on, finishing 5th in his heat which relegated him to the B Main.  Randy survived that with a 3rd place finish and started the A Main in the 19th position.  Martin made a charge to the 7th place position before running out of laps.  Randy's 7th place finish easily gave him his first W.O.W.  championship.  This is Diamond Motorsports first points title.  Here is a list of a few other championships in Randy's possession:

2001 Knoxville Raceway
2000 Double X Speedway
1997 State Fair Speedway
1996 Knoxville Raceway
1994 State Fair Speedway
1993 State Fair Speedway

September 10, 2005
24 Raceway Park
Randy started his heat 8th and drove up to finish 4th.  This put him in the 7th starting position for the A Main.  As most of you know, 24 Raceway isn' t very conducive to passing so Randy was only able to come home 5th.

September 4, 2005
Lake Ozark Speedway
The team got the steering replaced and were looking for a good night.  However, it all started to go bad at the pill draw and it didn’t get much better after that.  Randy fought a terribly handling car all nigh long to complicate matters.  Martin started his heat 8th and only moved up one position to finish 6th.  Randy started in the back of the B Main and moved his way up to 6th place.  The car was noticeably squirmy down the straightaway, appearing as if the car had a broken torsion bar or shock.

September 3, 2005
Lake Ozark Speedway
Randy started 8th in his heat and finished 6th.  This put him on the outside of row 2 in the 2nd B Main.  On lap 2, Randy spun in turn 4 and would restart 11th.  Randy methodically worked his way back up through the field by running both the cushion and the bottom.  On lap 11 of 12 Randy passed 2 cars on the bottom coming to the white flag to move into 2nd place (the final transfer spot).  This put Randy in the inside of row 10.  In the first 7 laps, Martin moved his way up to the 9th position.  A few laps later, however, his steering broke and relegated him to the infield.

August 21, 2005
State Fair Speedway
Randy returned to the site where he has many victories in his career and track championships in 1993, 1994, and 1997.  Sunday night was the last night of the 2005 Missouri State Fair and host to a WOW race as well.  Randy started 6th in his heat and would run 3rd.  Randy started 9th in the A Main and made a strong run towards the front.  Randy made it up to 2nd place with 8 laps to go and was running down Brian Brown, who once boasted a straightaway lead on the #14.  With Randy on the bottom and Brian on the top Randy closed within 5 car lengths of Brownie and was poised to take the lead until a caution came out with a handful of laps remaining.  On the restart, a lapped car was placed between Brian and Randy.  Randy was 8 car lengths behind Brian by the time the lapper was cleared.  Meanwhile, Brownie was running the bottom at this time.  When the checkers fell, Randy had pulled within 2 car lengths.  Time had runn out on Randy, who would have to settle for 2nd.

Knoxville Raceway
Randy represented the WOW well tonight in the Brodix Tournament of Champions.  The black #14 ran 4th in its heat race and with passing points would start 19th in the A Main.  After an impressive showing last night, Randy picked up where he left off and drove up to a 7th place finish.

August 6, 2005

After a sour-running engine last night, some adjustments were made to the Wesmar.  Apparently they were the right ones as Randy ran 3rd in his heat and then passed Johnny Anderson on lap 8 of the A Main to take home the $2000 top prize.  This is Randy's first Knoxville win in 4 years and his 8th of the season.

August 5, 2005

Randy Martin lined up on the inside of the 5th row in the A Main of tonights Knoxville 360 Nationals final.  Randy has been close several times before in this event with a 2nd place finish in 1999 and 3rd place in 1993 and was hoping to make a charge towards the front.  Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be as the motor acted up tonight.  Randy would fall back a few positions and finish 12th with a flat motor.

August 4, 2005
Knoxville Raceway
Tonight Randy started his heat race 2nd in the preliminary show at the ASCS Knoxville 360 Nationals.  Randy grabbed the lead in turns 1 and 2 and beat Matt Moro by over a straightaway.  Martin started the A Main 7th and slippped into 5th place in the opening laps.  Randy would run the remainder of the race in the 5th place.  Billy Alley dominated the A Main, winning by over half of a lap.

July 31, 2005
Double X Speedway
Randy led the WOW into California tonight.  Randy started his heat race 4th and would finish 2nd all over the back of Terry Hinck.  Randy started the A Main 4th and would find himself 3rd in the early going.  Martin got by Rex Combs around lap 4 for 2nd place and then by Hinck on lap 7 for the lead.  Jesse Hockett spent the final 16 laps of the race breathing down Randy’s neck just waiting for him to falter.  The wily veteran drove flawlessly and took home win #7 of the year.

July 30, 2005
Knoxville Raceway
Randy made another trip up to Knoxville tonight.  It is safe to say that Randy has not had the success here this year that he has had in years past.  The 1996 & 2001 Track Champion started 9th and ran 4th in his heat.  Randy started the feature 7th and moved hi way up to 2nd place halfway through looking like the Randy of old.  The car got looser and looser as the laps elapsed and Randy would fall back to finish 8th place.

July 22, 2005
US 36 Raceway
It was a tough night for team 14 in Osborn.  Randy struggled with the setup all
night.  Randy finished 3rd in his heat and ran 16th in the A Main.

July 16, 2005

Martin made his 2005 410 debut tonight and it started in terrific fashion.  Randy qualified 16th out of 32 cars.  Randy won his heat race easily over the likes of Kerry Madsen and Billy Alley.  In the A Feature, however, the car did not run properly and Randy pulled in, finishing in the 22nd position.

July 10, 2005
Double X Speedway
Randy won his heat last Sunday night (July 3) and was slated to start on the pole when rain postponed the feature until tonight.  Randy took off like a Rocket and was leading by half of a lap when he cut down a right rear tire and spun out in turn 4.  The crew got him back out where he restarted around 9th.  Randy would charge hard in the final 10 laps to come up to 3rd place.

July 9, 2005
Knoxville Raceway
Tonight was twin feature night in Knoxville.  Randy ran 6th in his heat, after starting 10th, and had enough passing points to transfer into the A.  Randy ran 13th in the first A Main from the16th starting position.  In the 2nd A Main,  Martin came home a much more impressive 4th place.

July 8, 2005
Lee County Speedway
Randy started 7th in his heat and moved his way up to finish an impressive 2nd place.  This put him in the dash, where he finished 5th.  Due to the invert.  Randy started the feature 3rd.  At the drop of the green, Randy moved into second place behind Jesse Gianetto.  On lap 10, Randy got by Jesse for the lead while in lapped traffic.  The two swapped the lead back in forth until lap 16.  That is when Randy passed him for good.  Martin pulled away in the final 10 laps to take his first career Sprint Invaders feature win.  This was Randy's 6th win of the season in 18 races.

July 3, 2005
Double-X Speedway
Randy won his heat tonight in California, but the feature was rained out.

June 22, 2005
State Fair Speedway
Randy flipped hard in hot laps.  The team hustled to get the backup car ready and did a great job.  Randy ran 4th in his heat with a broken spark plug.  Randy started 11th in the feature and would come home 12th while being very, very sore.  Randy is going to take atleast a week away from racing after tonight.  Adding further insult to injury, brand new motor was burned up during the feature.

June 19, 2005
Monett Speedway
Randy started 3rd in his heat and drove to the front to take it.  Brian Brown led the first lap, but Randy got him back on lap 2 and led the rest of the way while being stalked by Brownie the entire time.

June 18, 2005
I-44 Speedway
Martin took his heat race and started the A Main on the pole.  Randy would win the Feature, but 2nd place Mike Trent was able to keep him in his sites the whole time.

June 17, 2005
Bolivar Speedway
Randy won his heat and started on the outside of the front row alongside Brian Brown.  Brian led early on until Randy got by him around lap 6.  That same lap, a caution came out to relegate the pass for the lead.  Randy would keep on Brown the rest of the race, but was unable to get back by him.

June 12, 2005
Double-X Speedway
Randy ran 2nd in his heat and rand 2nd to Jesse Hockett in the A Main.  Jesse was on top of his game tonight and the #14 just didn't have enough forward bite to it.

June 5, 2005
Double-X Speedway
Randy started off the evening with a heat race win.  Randy had the field covered, but late race ignition problems would allow Hockett to catch and pass him.  Randy would hold on to finish 2nd.

May 29, 2005
Central Missouri Speedway
Randy started in the back of his heat and came up to finish 3rd.  This put Randy on the outside of the 6th row for the A Main.  Randy was in 5th place after the first lap (up 7 spots from his starting position already).  On lap 4, Randy Martin moved into third place.  One lap later he was in 2nd place.  Toby Brown, the leader, began to maneuver through lapped traffic on lap 9.  Randy narrowed the margin between the two cars to 6 car lengths at the halfway point of the race.  On lap 13, Corbin moved into 3rd place.  Randy was all over the back of Toby Brown by lap 14.  On lap 16, the yellow flag flew over the speedway due to Chris Morgan spinning out in turn 1.  Toby Brown paced the field and chose the high line going into turn 1.  Veteran Randy Martin drove low and gave Toby a slide job, easily clearing the 4M car. One lap later, Jon Corbin moved by Toby Brown as well.  Brian Brown would slide by Toby and into 3rd place on lap 18.  Brian Brown tried to give Jon Corbin a slide job in turns 3 and 4 on lap 19 and nearly wrecked both of the cars.  Jon would drive back by him on the straightaway.  Brian Brown tried again the following lap and successfully passed Corbin in the 100.7 KMZU #33.  With the hot battle for second, Randy Martin was able to drive away with his second W.O.W. win of the season.  This was an impressive run considering he started 12th.  Brian Brown also had an impressive run.  Brian transferred out of the B Main and started 17th in the A.  Brian was able to move by 15 cars.  Randy Martin leads by 40 points over defending champion, Terry Hinck.

May 21, 2005
Valley Speedway
Randy ran 2nd in his heat and started the feature in the 5th spot.  Jason Martin rocketed from the outside pole to take the early lead.  Combs, Stanley, Randy Martin, and Nichols made up the top 5 after 1 lap.  Randy Martin moved by Combs and Stanley for 2nd on lap 2.  As he did all night, Jason Martin brought the field back to the green flag at a very slow pace after a late race caution.  This did not fool veteran sprinter Randy Martin (no relation), as he was able to get by Jason for the lead.  The race went green the rest of the way and Randy would go on to win by a straightaway over Jason.  Tonight, Randy Martin became the only driver to win in each of the 5 seasons that the W.O.W has been in existence.  This was Martin's first victory of the season.

May 20, 2005
Lee County Speedway
Randy made his season debut with the Sprint Invaders tonight in Donnellson, IA.  Randy would finish 2nd in his heat and then run 7th in the Dash.  The cushion was pretty good in the feature and passing was at a premium.  Randy started 7th and came home 6th.
